Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover – Fortnite has done a few collaborations over the years like the Avengers and John Wick. Now, Fortnite and the NBA decided to crossover with the first round of 2021 playoffs going on right now. Players will be able to purchase gear at the item shop, team battles, and other unique features of all 30 teams in the NBA.
THE SUCCESSFUL CROSSOVER
The second half of Fortnite x NBA: The Crossover was ready to go three days on May 25, in Fortnite Creative with an all-new NBA-themed Welcome Hub. Players like Donovan Mitchell, and Trae Young, will have something called “Locker Bundles”. The athletes will share their favorite items they equip when playing the game, which will also be for sale soon.
Nate Nanzer, who is the global head of partnerships at Fortnite creator Epic Games, stated “We’ve been speaking to the NBA for a good while — over a year, almost two… so we’re really excited to be able to get this out there into the world for Fortnite and NBA fans.”
The “In The Paint ” set will also include 31 Fortnite NBA skins and every team will be represented. The “Shoot and Score” pack will feature the Hookshot emote and the Mini Hoop Back Bling. Another emote that will be featured is known as Dribblin’, which is set to go live with all these bundles.
The Fornite NBA Team Battles was an interesting concept that lasted a few days from May 19th to the 23rd. This was decided for the ate Farm Play-In Tournament. Players were able to have a chance to win some rewards including V-Bucks.
The supporting communities for the different teams were able to earn points as well. The teams with the most support for Team Battles were the Los Angeles Lakers, the Chicago Bulls, the Golden State Warriors, the Toronto Raptors, and the Brooklyn Nets.
